Babylon 5 series 1 box set
 

I'm really happy to have just found out that in the next couple of months series 1 of Babylon 5 is being released in a box set on dvd.

Been waiting for this for ages. It is being released in the US and in the UK, among other places.

What has annoyed the hell out of me though is that the info that I have found on the US region 1 release states that it is anamorphic widescreen - cool!!

But the region 2 UK release is listed in stores as being 4:3...

What crap is this??? If the US can get an anamorphic print, why can't the UK???? If this turns out to be true, I will defintely have to invest in a chip for my dvd player, that is assuming the US anamorphic print is decent.

Can anyone else confirm this???

Looks like the R1 set will be widescreen anamorphic... there might be info about the R2 set here:

Since you're wondering about a non-R1 DVD, I'll move this to the International Forum.

The R2 set will definitely be anamorphic widescreen, don't worry about it!
