how mad should i be??

ok, maybe i am overreacting a little bit here but right now i am a little mad.

i had ordered the mummy/the mummy returns off of amazon.uk because they had it for pretty cheap, i had a coupon, and also because i thought the packaging was pretty neat. here is a pic..

anyway, it arrives today and lo and behold, all it is is two individual titles in a slipcase (just like a R1 release would be), NOT the foldout cool looking thing that was in the picture on the website. unfortunately i opened it up just to double check and sure enough, not same thing shown on the website.

so am i being really dumb about all of this or would anyone else be mad too?

I would be pissed off as hell. That is a cool looking case and if you ordered because of it you have every right to get your money back.

codefree 06-15-02 11:36 PM

Yup, if Amazon UK is showing the wrong picture they ought to refund your money.

kevin75: ...erm... are you quite sure you ordered
The Ultimate Mummy Collection ... ?

Here is the link to the Amazon.co.uk page: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...213736-6140417

FWIW it looks similar/the same as the Blackstar offering which is going at nearly full price whereas the Amazon deal was half-price.

Not so good if they send crummy packaging though although I guess the films are the same.

kevin75, I'd just email customer services and ask that they now send you the correct packaging as advertised on their site: it is no good them suggesting something is half-price and shipping out a different product.

well, the problem that i was facing was that i had opened it to check it out and that, acocrding to amazon, made it ineligible for a refund. after i sent an email to amazon, they told me that i could send it back for a refund. however, i may email them back and ask if they can send me the correct packaging instead. benedict, thanks for the suggestion.

Of course you cannot tolerate them sending you the "wrong" box !
Thereīs a picture of the fold-out box on their homepage so thatīs what you should get...

I have the box myself and itīs pretty nice !

buckee1 06-16-02 06:17 PM

I'd be pretty pissed myself so...YES you SHOULD be mad!

kevin75 06-20-02 06:10 PM

well ,unfortunately i think that fold out packaging is a thing of the past. when i emailed amazon, they said they didn't have it anymore as did bensonsworld. blackstar is checking. even in R4 i don't think they have it anymore seeing as how i checked ezydvd.com and they had a different picture. i guess i will probably end up keeping what they sent me. $22 shipped isn't bad for 4 discs and DTS, but it still would've been really cool to have the neat packaging.
