Brazilian Import DVD's OOP in US

Anyone have experience with OOP (in the US) DVD's that are available by mail order from Brazil? Dealers say that they are official releases coded in R0; menus in Portugese, Portugese subtitles (removable), etc.

Titles that I've seen are:
- Concert for Bangladesh
- Rolling Stones Let's Spend the Night Together
- Guns N Roses Use Your Illusion I & II
- Once Upon a Time in America (w/ De Niro) -- hear that this is full screen & not such hot quality.

I've also seen Rolling Stones' Gimme Shelter that is supposed to be from the same master as the US Criterion, except with Portugese menus. It's priced way less than the US Criterion version.

Anyone? If so, any comments? Recommended dealers?

Thanks and regards
BB

You'd probably want to check in the International DVD forum...

OK -- hopefully, I'll get some response there. The idea was that these are American videos/movies (see above) -- just currently not available in the US.

Thanks

My roommate bought Once Apon a Time and it isn't half bad. Definitely worth it if you have to see the uncut version (3.5 hours or something crazy like that).

Hi,

Where can I buy "Once upon a time in America" or the Guns n Roses DVDs?

Thanks

Not sure what the DVD Talk policy is re: posting links, but if you search for the video title and the word DVD on eBay, you'll find multiple dealers selling these.

FWIW, the feedback that I've gotten is that the GnR DVD's are high quality; Once Upon a Time is full screen, but otherwise good quality. Haven't jumped in yet, myself, so no personal experiences to report.

BB
