British WICKER MAN

The British version of THE WICKER MAN (which is one of the top ten horror movies ever made, in my oh-so-humble opinion) was recently released.

The two-disc set is composed just like Anchor Bay's recent, gorgeous wooden box set, with the nifty little documentary and expanded cut on disc 2. But the British release also has a twenty five minute Christopher Lee interview (it could be part of the second disc of Anchor Bay's "Scars of Dracula," though), and commentary over the expanded cut by Lee and cranky director Robin Hardy.

(If anyone's heard Lee's views on the director's cut, that might be a hilarious listen!)

Anyway, anyone read any reviews or anything? Basically: is it worth grabbing?

Review of the UK R2 2 disc PAL version here;

The 25 min. interview with Christopher Lee and Director
Robin Hardy is from an old 1997 U.S show "Critics Choice".
It is an easter egg on both Anchor Bay US R1 NTSC 1 disc
and 2 disc editions.

Insert the theatrical version disc and from the main menu,
select the 'Extras' menu entry. On the next screen then
highlight 'The Wicker Man Enigma' and then press the 'up' key
on your remote control. This will highlight a large question mark
on the screen and if you press 'Enter' now, you will be treated
the interview footage. While the image quality of the segment
is very poor, the interview itself most certainly is not.

It sounds like the commentary track has some great info,
but at $20UK = $30US +/- , it is only a buy if you don't
already have the 2 disc US edition or if you are a big fan.

If you still want it, consider;
