Thailand Movies on DVD (FINALLY!)
 

Hello:

I happy that my country's movies start finally to come on DVD! And good news for English speaking people. Many have subtitles.

Most famous movie Thailand NANG NAK available before on Hong Kong DVD but now they not make any more. If you have Region Free DVD Player I very much recommend IRON LADIES. Also Hong Kong DVD disc. It VERY VERY VERY funny and entertaining movie. It about Transexual and Transvettite Championship Volleyball Team. I not sure if I proud of this or not, but it true story happen in Thailand!

Also, now Thailand make DVD of their movie. OK. I honest. MOST Thai movie not very good! They cheap and not well written. BANGKOK DANGEROUS not very good but easy to find. It same Hong Kong movie but with no money to make.

Also movie THE SNAKER now can buy cheap as Hong Kong DVD. I very much not recommend movie SNAKER! It VERY VERY cheap and very much stupid movie. Only good about it is that it interesting made in Cambodia and first movie made in Cambodia in many many years.

And buy BODY JUMPER. Which is a very funny horror movie little bit like SCREAM or SCARY MOVIE. And if you like Asian lady, have very many sexy beautiful women in this movie.

Other movie I recommend is SURIYOTHA. It 3 hour epic. Like Lawrence of Arabia in Thailand. COmpany I suggest have other Thai movie. But I not see so I not can say good or not good.

I live in Los Angeles now. I order from Company. And I get my movies in less 2 weeks. So I know they good shippers! Price cheap for disc (Body Jumper $15) but ship not cheap (I not remember, but for everything it about $40. Suriyotha have 3 discs include many extras and making of documentary).

Also movie on VCD that many place sell like Poker Industries in USA that VERY VERY good is called "69". It like Thai version of Pulp Fiction!

thanks to the guys at www.asiandvdguide.com, I know that www.thainetcity.com also carries Thai dvds. One I'm interested in is "Gunmen" -- don't know the Thai name for that. Have you seen it? I've heard some good things about it, though I realize it is a little older than some of the others?

Hey! "Funny Story 69" is one of my favorite films ever. A lot better than "Bangkok Dangerous." But when can we expect "Fun Bar Karaoke" and "Sia-Die" on DVD?

GUNMEN-I not know of this movie. I see it at local Thai Book store, but I not buy. It have ENglish subtitle? You have to be careful. Many Thai movie old not very good. VERY cheap. Maybe you like if you American because it new. OK. Maybe I shut up because I say too much about movie I not know.

FUN BAR KAROKEE. I see it on DVD when I live In Bangkok. But it not have subtitle. I buy VCD of movie 6 months ago in Thai book store. But I fear maybe it bootleg copy. It have english subitle in PAL so need DVD player that convert PAL-NTSC so can read subtitle. It good movie. I say if you see it good to buy.

I glad you like "69". I see this movie in theater in Los Angeles!

After I make first post I watch movie BODY JUMPER again (www.thainet.com) and I not can recommend enough! I sure some day it going to be very popular and famous with fan in Western countries. It silly and funny and sexy and not stupid. For $15 for DVD it very good deal!

One movie I forget is TEARS OF THE BLACK DRAGON. A Thai spagetti western! Many people like in Europe and America. Miramax buy the rights to this movie. But it not released in USA. I have DVD from England of this movie. I like, but not love movie.

Thailand make VERY many good movies now! I surprise. Before when I little, I not like Thai movie very much. I like movie Japan, Hong Kong and America. But now, I think Thai movie, when good, better than Hong Kong movie. Hong Kong movie all same now, but Thai movie very much have new life and very "FRESH".
