JSA - korean dvd
well, i emailed YeonDVD about the availability and was just told that it will be April 20. (but also that the dates are notoriously inaccurate...)
anyway, i've found 2 stores: yeondvd and mrkwangsdvd (on ebay). are there any experiences w/ either/both of these places? and any other places that specialize in R3 korean dvds? |
i have ordered through mrkwang several times and he does an awesome job. excellent packaging, fast shipping, and nice emails too. i have heard that yeondvd is pretty good but i haven't ordered through her yet.

YeonDVD (Darcy) is MR. Kwang's wife's site. I have ordered from them a few times, and they are top notch... I don't go anywhere else for my Korean film fix.... Once you have ordered from them, you get on their mailing list, and they send updates of when things are coming out, and even some for Korean film posters and OOP stuff..
They get an AAA+++ IMHO.. Check out here film page for trailers of Korean Films: http://www.koreanfilm.org/ |
Sorry.. that is incorrect.
MrKwang is an independent seller who uses eBay store. YeonDVD is run by Darcy's wife, Yeon. Darcy runs the excelent Korean film resource www.koreamfilm.org MrKwang and Yeon are not connected... J.T. |

well, i sent a test email to both companies asking when JSA would be released.
yeondvd sent a reply in about 48 hours. i still haven't heard from MrKwang. prices are nearly identical so i think i'll just order from yeondvd - i certainly appreciate the darcy website so if it supports them, good. |
The Hong Kong DVD is slated for March 22, 2002
Problem is, it's released by Modern, which so far has put out bad quality DVDs. I'm waiting for the Korean release.... J.T. |
I can confirm that the current planned release date for the Korean DVD is April 20th.

Can anyone explain why many of the dvds on yeondvd state that the case claims R3 but they really are R0? Are they legitimate releases?
|
Yes they are legitimate releases. They are the same versions that are sold here in the stores in Korea.....
Don't know why but some ARE listed as region 3 but DO play on all region status........ HOWEVER, recently a number of DVD"s marked region 3 have indeed been ONLY region 3 .....Check out koreanfilm.org for more info... |
