Free World Shipping!

apparently http://dvdimport.com offers free shipping if you choose Canada post.
Has anyone dealt with these guys yet?

I wonder how long that would take to get to Europe (Britain)?

They may offer "free" shipping but their prices are fairly steep.

Take a look at a&b sound for a better deal.

Yes AB S and NADvd are my usual bunch, but this looks a good bargain, if you factor in free shipping
http://www.dvdimport.com/product.asp?productid=11278

but what's Canada post like?

This site does have some bargains but they actually charge your card when you order and the discs from Canada to England take around 3 weeks.

DVDBOXOFFICE are more reliable.

A & B Sound may have cheap prices but at $11.00 interntational postage to England for 1 DVD, it works out expensive.

If you order more than 1, postage is still the same but you will get screwed with import duty.

I'm not so happy with DVD Box office. I ordered items from them on Dec 20th and still haven't received them. Two emails; no reply. Sucks.

I've only had 1 go missing out of over 20 DVD's. That was very recent. So have had no experience of their customer service.

I like that they come from France and therefore no Customs Duty is due.

All the other DVD's have arrived within 5-6 days of their release date.

actually they charge CAD$6 postage for one DVD, CAD$11 for three, CAD$21 for 7 and so on, and as the exchange rate for the Canadian $ is so excellent at the moment together with their generally very good pieces and shipping of 5-7 days, I nearly always end up there.

DVD BOX OFFICE have let me down two different times in the past year, I will only go there again if I'm really really stuck

Incorrect, it depends on the wieght of the DVD, A typical 2 disc, ie Harry Potter weighs 500grammes, therefore the charge for international postage is $11.00 for one DVD. Ghost World however would cost $6.00 because it weighs 130grammes.

https://www.absound.ca/info/shipping/shipping.html

Some discs may work out cheaper than DVDBOXOFFICE and I will use this site in my comparisons when finding the cheapest place to buy a DVD.

I however only order one DVD in a package as recently have been screwed by Customs and Excise for anything up to £14 for 2 DVD's.

So for single disc DVD's they may be cheaper but for Mulitple Disc DVD's they most certainly are not.

JUST got a reply from DVD import, they say international shipping should take about 7 days.

What do you think?

They're talking out of their A**e.

3 weeks is the earliest I've got a DVD in.

They are so slow.

Sorry to correct you Daren: I ordered 2 dvd's from them:
Jeepers Creepers arrived in Amsterdam in 7 days, Hearts in Atlantis in 5 days!
Not bad at all and much faster than DVDBoxoffice which I have used on and off in the last 2 years.
Also their prices are fairly low.

I wouldn't give dvdimport my custom.
They charge your card immediately not when they ship.
They may have cheap prices but their service is very poor.

Robert, sorry to correct me. What are you on about

How could you correct me, all my DVD's from DVDIMPORT have taken over 3 weeks or more. So there is nothing to correct, as thats the way it is.

Every disc except for one from DVDBOXOFFICE has arrived in less than a week. Thats 20 DVD's that arrived in less tahn 7 days.

You saying DVDIMPORT are good because you received 2 DVD's in time, not a very good measure of someone's service. Only 2 Disc's.

I ordered HEIST last Monday, 5 days later (and 3 days before its release date) it arrived to my door.
