There are a handful of Jackie Chan DVDs that are going to be released by Pioneer Japan on 3/22/2002. It looks like these might be rereleases of previous versions. Does anyone have the previous releases, and if so, can you comment on the quality of them vs. the R0 versions? Thanks.

Armour of God and Miracles are also being released, but I already have the HKL versions.

Pioneer rarely does any of their own HK discs, they simply distribute Megastar's catalouge in Japan for the most part. As such the dvds at their very best will only be as good as typical R0 Megastar discs, half assed remastering with the usual deficiencies. The one wild card would be Who Am I? for which Pioneer did their own transfer for R2. Whether this is a repack of that disc or a Megastar production may determine whether or not it is worth looking at. Stick with the HKL discs or wait for the corresponding HKL release.

I'm interested in hearing some facts regarding Armour Of God 2 and Twin Dragons since the R1 versions are nonanamorphic. From what I've seen with previous Pioneer releases they will likely correct Disney's mistake. As for Who Am I?, I own the current dts version from Japan and it's quite good IMO. I'll hold off on buying Project A, Project A Part 2, and Young Master since those three are all scheduled for HKL releases in 2002.

I'll pick up Armour Of God 2 and Twin Dragons in a heartbeat if they're anamorphic. I hope there will be more information soon.
