Do I need a NTSC Television?

I live in the UK and our televisions use the PAL standard. I have a multi region DVD player and intend on buying DVD's while on holiday in Canada. Will my television have to support NTSC in order to play back the DVD's from Canada?

Thanks for the help

While this question would probably fit better into the HW or "International"-Forum, here's a short answer.

Yes and No.
RC2 Players can display 'NTSC DVDs as either NTSC or PAL60.
Your TV has to support one of those (depending on your Player).
Most modern TVs are capable of displaying those two anyway.

Yes, Canada is NTSC country. Check your TV, though - my understanding is that most good UK sets will play NTSC. An alternative is to pick up a cheap Chinese R1 player in Canada - some will convert to PAL, I think, but how well I don't know.
