Review for Futurama on DVD (R2)

I read a good review of the new R2 Futurama season 1 DVD. reveiw

The discs seem to have a lot of extras, even a unseen episode in line drawing form! Plus commentaries for every show.

Are there any plans to release this in Region 1? I'd love to collect the seasons of Futurama - it's a great show, more character driven then the Simpsons.

I was looking for info on a R1 release of Futurama Season 1, and just posting a review for the R2 release.

This is not the right forum for what this post is about.

To answer your question, there are no plans currently for an R1 release, and it seems that there won't be and R1 release until after Futurama has hit syndication, which may be a while.

Syndication happens usually after a show hits around 100 episodes, usually at the end of season 4. Buffy hit syndication at the end of season 5, which was it's 100th episode. Futurama I think is into it's 3rd season, but very little of it has been shown on TV.

Appearently there is no money to be made in syndication in England, which is why they get all our great shows on DVD first, while we have to wait years to get the same product as an R1.
