According to this eBay seller, one of the two versions of The Killer includes English subtitles. The French sites I've checked do not confirm this? Does anyone know if this is in fact true or not?

There are 2 versions of the movie. The first disc is the director's cut, in original language, Cantonese. The second disc is the taiwanese cut, which is extended with a few mins of extra scenes, but in Mandarin dub. This is the version that has burned in subs (chinese/english white subs). All you have to do is turn off the French subs and you can see the English subs.

If you can wait, you can wait for the HKL version of The Killer. I'm waiting patiently for that DVD

Okay, that sounds simply enough.

This is the first I've heard of an HKL release of The Killer. May I ask where you found this info? I'm aware of a big 17 movie deal which includes Hard Boiled but not The Killer.

...odd... according to dvdfr there is only one French release: the two-DVD French Edition Collector Limitée ( http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/fiche.php3?id=4536 ) that includes both the 'international' 105-minute release - with French subs or a French dub:
