TRAINSPOTTING: Canada Vs US
Anyone seen the Canadian DVD of Trainspotting and able to comment on the differences in quality or extras between the Canadian and US editions? Should I just stick with my old Criterion laserdisc of the movie?

... but those extra scenes and interviews are *from* the Criterion laserdisc -- which also includes a commentary track that is not on the DVD.
You probably want to just hang onto your Criterion until something better comes along.

If someone can confirm one way or the other, what I understood was that the US version has no extras, but is the uncut, undubbed version of the film, the same one that's on the Criterion disc. The Canadian disc is slightly cut but has the extras. I owned the Canadian disc, and it appeared to be missing (unless I blinked) the shot where <spoiler>Diane masturbates on top of Renton after he's "scored"</spoiler>. Can anyone confirm?
