Welcome, you might have better luck in the International DVD forum. I personally like Blackstar.co.uk for checking out R2 discs.

Subgeniusguy is right, the Int. forum is where you’ll find details of all the R2-6 good stuff. www.rewind.org.uk is a great site for listing all the differences in a lot (but not all) of R1/R2/4 DVDs.

A mod will be along any minute to move this over........

Hi tanner, way cool for you!. Yes there are some zone 2 releases that are not available in zone 1. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are these:

- Strictly Ballroom
- Beautiful Thing (this may be coming out in zone 1 soon)
- Anamorphic version of A night to remember. (widescreen criterion in zone 1)
- Anamorphic version of Star Trek: Generations (widscreen paramount in zone 1)

I know there are countless others but I just can't think of any off hand. Check out the previously mentioned website as well as www.play.com

Im not sure of what you are looking for but if you can rattle off some titles, perhaps I know already. Also, I've found anamorphic releases easier to come by here. IM not sure if that because zone 2 is later into the game or not or if widescreen TV is just more available in Europe.

So since you can play both, you might want to compair using this site: http://www.dvdcompare.org.uk/
it compairs region 1, 2, and 4 releases. (and region 0 i believe too)

Granted these are disks that are released usually in both zones by may have quality differences.

Enjoy

www.bytesandbobs.com/dvdcompare also has details of differences between regions.

There is also a list of around 150 discs available in only R2 at www.bytesandbobs.com/dvdcompare/nocomparison.asp

There are at least a dozen other threads that discuss this subject ad nauseum and you would probably do much better to search for those. It really depends on what you like but many people seem to like the tv series that get released outside of region 1 - Britcoms, South Park, Buffy, Friends, etc.
