I am looking for the best deal I can find on the R2 or R4 Buffy Season One Box Set.

I don't want to pay too much, cause I'm sure I'll end up buying the R1 version when it finally comes out.

So far the best price I can find is:

(R4) US$36.95 + about $5.50 s/h
from chaosmusic.com

Anyone know of any coupons for this site?
Anyone know of a cheaper price?
Anyone know if there is a difference between the R2 and R4 versions?

Thanks

There's a $5 AUD off for first time customers. You shouldn't have to do anything special, I think it should show up automatically in your shopping cart on checkout.

Brett

The R4 Buffy comes as three keepcases, with a collectors box, while the R2 Buffy comes with in a cool cross shaped foldout style package:
http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articl...coverscan.html

AFAIK, the contents are the same. Chaosmusic seems to be the cheapest price for a store that ships to the US.

Chris - is the $5 promotion still going on? I can't find any details of it on their site.

www.flyingpig.co.nz has the Region 4 version listed for NZD$85.45 which is about US$35

Not sure what postage is to the USA.

Thanks for help everyone...

Chris_D, I've already taken advantage of Chaos' $5 AUD first time customer deal.

I'm now leaning towards the R2 version.
(Need the Cool Packaging)

Anyone know if the R2 stuff is cut in any way?

I should be able to get it for about $35 (US) from Amazon.co.uk.

I am waiting for a free 5.00 GBP GC from lineone.net.

Anyone know of any other UK Amazon coupons?

Thanks

Nope, if anything, it's the US that gets censored more than any other nation. Anything seen in the US will be fine here.

Just saw this today -

No price details yet, though. I wonder what type of packaging the R2 set will have?

Angel Season 1/Buffy Season 3 R4 Info...

Haven't seen it posted yet, but Michael D's (www.michaeldvd.com.au) has a little bit of information on the releases:

Angel Season 1 Boxset they have the following extras listed:

Audio Commentary-Joss Whedon & David Greenwalt,
Audio Commentary-Jane Espenson,
Featurette-Season One,
Outtakes,
Trailer,
Biographies-Cast,
Gallery,
Script-Five By Five; Sanctuary,
Featurette-I'm Cordelia,
Featurette-Introducing Angel,
Featurette-The Demons

Buffy Season 3 part 1 has:

Featurette-Season 3 Overview,
Featurette-Buffy Speak,
Biographies-Cast,
Gallery,
Outtakes,
Script

Buffy Season 3 part 2 has:

Audio Commentary-Helpless; Bad Girls; Consequences; Ear Shot, Featurette-Special Effects,
Featurette-Wardrobe,
Featurette-Weapons

All are tentatively set for a November release.

I find it interesting that Angel S1 is all going to be one box, while they're keeping up the 2-box-per-season Buffy style. Anyhow, I think Michael's is pretty reliable, and I'm really looking forward to these releases.

These are easily the most anticipated upcoming releases in my family. We can't get enough of Buffy and Angel!

Love the shows, and have been eagerly awaiting any hint of the next boxset releases.

Anyhow, just heard that www.amazon.co.uk has October 29th listed for the R2 Buffy season 3 boxset.

Which is kinda weird, considering R4 had (I think) the first releases of the first two seasons. I know I'll end up picking up whichever has the first release (I'm sooo impatient), but I'm more fond of the R4 packaging scheme.

Well it looks like they're releasing the Buffy seasons every six months, so season 4 should be May 2002 and season 5 in November 2002.

Okay, so it's R2, but I'm betting almost all interested parties'll read this thread anyhow. And, if previous pattern holds true, the content should be the same between all regions.

Angel Season 1 apparently has a UK street of December 10, Play247.com has it up for preorder ( http://www.play247.com/play247.asp?p...R2&title=95299 ).

Not looking good on the widescreen front: the stats have it as 4:3. But, they could be wrong (they have Amy Acker listed in the cast. She plays Fred, who doesn't even show up until the end of season 2).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Region 4 Language Question

Does anyone know what other language tracks besides English are contained
on the Season 1 and Season 2 Australia DVDs? BTW, I'm referring to the TV Series not the film.

I had heard a rumor that season 3 will have the "previously on Buffy" clips. Anyone know for sure?

For the curious, the R2 season box contains the same content, but isn't broken up into into two sets.

Are we now sure that the R2 and R4 sets are identical? I know they have been in the past, but I've been unable to find definite confirmation on Season 3. If they are, I'm disappointed, since I was hoping the R4 versions would be unedited.

Fooey.

Yes. Fox has said that they want to keep DVD presentations of their television programming consistent from region to region, and the discs were supposedly authored over here.

What's edited about the R2 sets?
