Young & Dangerous series??

Hi, all!!

My wife is a big fan of Ekin Cheng and so
I am planning on purchasing this series of movies, for her.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on which DVD's I should get. It seems that there might be different companies producing them. If so, is there a difference in picture quality from the different companies???

Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

Jordon

The Universe ones (3 & 5) will be better than the Mei Ah ones (1, 2, and 4) but you probably should watch them in numerical order.

Y&D 5 is a pain to watch. but you might as well get the whole series and two of the off-shoots.

Y&D 1,2,3,4,5
Born to Be King (Y&D 7, The last in the Y&D Series, IMHO one of the best)

Y&D 6 (The Prequel) - You can watch this before or after you see Y&D 1

Those Were the Days (Story of Chicken)
Portland Street Blues (Story of Sister 13) -I have had so many defects of this Universe disc though-

These are all pretty darn cheap, that's why I got the whole series a while back.

Y&D series is one of my favorite series. I'm a big Ekin fan myself, and I recommened getting 1-3, and if you like those, you should get the other parts of the series (such as prequel, 3-6)

The only watchable versions are from Mei-Ah and Universe. I wouldn't get any ritek verions because they only have a dub, meaning the original language (cantonese track) is missing. Any DVD without the original track is not worth buying.

The universe discs are much better than mei-ah though.

I wish I bought these dvds cheaply, I bought these dvds when the first came out (these were my first dvds) and they costed me 40 bucks each!

you could probably get these for about $15 each.

I've picked up up numbers 1-5...

Only watched the first two so far, as I've been pretty busy.
They came highly recommended from a friend.

Actually, if you order from DDDHouse in HK, the "Y&D" series all run about $5.20, except for #4, which is a little over $8.00 for some reason (pre-shipping costs). I'm starting on this series myself -- watched the "Prequel" first, and now have the first one to see next.

Eh, what's this? Another series for me to get? Goody!
I'll have to check out the reviews...
Based on the comments here though, sounds like I would enjoy them.

cheers,
Gabe

I've bought almost all the series including some of the spinoffs, but I've only watched 1-4 and the prequel so far. The series is awesome. Jordan Chan is badass. He's the main reason why I keep watching more. As for Ekin....eh he can't act. He's always the same in each movie. Bb bb bb bb bb bbut I think its easily overlooked as the series is very enjoyable. Gigi Lai is so cute in this series. ^_^

BTW, a lot of people seem to like the prequel.... but if that's the only Y&D movie you watched, you shouldn't base the rest of the series off of that. I didn't like the prequel at all, but I love the series. The prequel is a totally different type of movie than the rest of the series. (I think it was a different director)
