What is D.R. Comp?
 

Hello. I am wondering if anyone out there can help me out. Last year I purchased a Japanese Code-free DVD player. I was messing with the controls when I discovered a selection called D.R. Comp. When I set it to ON, it gave me a D.R. Comp meter that has a MIN to MAX setting. Does anyone know what D.R. Comp is and if so please respond. I've messed with the settings but I don't see or hear any differences. Please advise. Thank you.
