Their prices are great but you may want to check out this thread before placing an order: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=under18

Ooops, didn't realise this was a bad site to order from. After getting burned by Playcentric.com, I'm tending more and more towards an Amazon-only shopping approach!
Thanks for the warning codefree! |
Under18 have had some problems with postal theft due to their packages being clearly marked as DVDs. I have ordered from them several times (including mis-prices which were honored) and the one time I had a problem (theft again) they sent replacement copies quickly and without question. In addition to their amazing prices on HKL stuff they also have low prices across the board and in some cases are the cheapest R2 supplier on-line.
I’ve had floaters from Under18, but then I’ve had floaters from nearly every etailer I use regularly and as long as they play it does not bother me, but folks this a problem with the DVD cases themselves and a problem with the casually destuctive postal systems we have. Reading some of the other posts it would appear that people think Under18 specifically employ people to shake these discs loose before they send them out. I would class Under18 as one of the better etailers and have recommended them to friends who have also used them without issue. Some perspective is needed I think on what constitutes a bad etailer and what is simply outside of their control. |
Under18 is still a lot better than Troma (The only online store I will never do business with again.) Under18 sent all of my DVDs promptly, although 3 of 8 were floaters and one was used.
I am going to give Under18 another chance and order 3-4 more HKL titles. |

Originally posted by Damfino I probably won't use Under18 again unless the deal is too good to pass up. I've ordered HKL DVD's thrice from bensonsworld and have never had a floater, and their packaging was just flimsy cardboard. But I haven't ordered from under18 before, so I'll be fair and give them a shot. |
This might have been posted in another thread, but how much is 10.99 pounds in US dollars? Also, whats the cost of shipping to US?

Myself I am pleased with Under18. They honored the Karate Kid Box misprice (17,99£, about 26$ for all three movies) and everything has turned up in a timely manner. Well one or two titles has been a bit slow in comming but all in all I'm pleased with them. But as always with online retailers YMMV. |
Oh yeah - I almost forgot... my one gripe with them is the fact that the lady at my local post office looks funny at me when I pick up goods from them. Well what would you think about the guy that turns up every now and then to pick up envelopes marked with "UNDER 18" ;)

Originally posted by Sinister Ash what is the shipping costs for under18 to the usa? Also, the current conversion rate is approx $1.45 per pound. Other observations: I have never received a floater from bensonsworld either, although I have from blackstar. Both companies use the same sticky cardboard packaging. Yes Aghama, this does qualify as too good to passup. :D |

play247 offer ...
Apparently in an attempt to match under18's offer, play247 is running a promotion as well: http://www.play247.com/play247.asp?p...omo&r=R2&id=10

Re: play247 offer ...
Thanks, just curious. The sale prices don't show up until you check out. Just remember that they don't ship outside Europe.
|
That's the problem.. they don't not ship outside of Eastern Europe, and I am in Canada.
Guess I'll have to stick to Under18 for my Bruce Lee fix! J.T. |
I guess it's a good thing Play247 doesn't ship outside of Europe or I'd go broke ordering those HKLs.
|
A bump and a note that a price war has started.
Under18 has reduced the following titles to £9.89: Blacksheep Affair Body Weapon City Hunter Drive (director's Cut) Drunken Master Eastern Condors Hitman Island Of Fire Legend Of A Fighter Miracles New Dragon Gate Inn Snake In Eagle's Shadow |
