Hans-Jürgen Syberberg film
Anyone know if the near epic 405 minute Our Hitler: A Film From Germany
is available anywhere on DVD? It was originally released in the US
by Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetroppe as I recall.
This film begs for a DVD release, I'd think.

"...This film begs for a DVD release, I'd think."
...ahh... you, and all of 3 other enthousiasts, worldwide!...
Personally, I'd much prefer 'they' release Edgar Reitz's 924-minute Heimat (1984)... or Syberberg's Die Nacht (1985)...

film, but I thought
it was well received here, critically. Was it not highly regarded where you are?
And this I may be completely imagining, through the haze and fog of time, but I think
I saw the film a second time following the initial release. So that would at least
indicate two theatrical releases, IF my memory is correct. Actually, I have the tape(s) for
a few years now, but I haven't watched it for fear of the quality and hope of
a DVD release.
re: Heimat
I have only heard of this acclaimed TV series but have not seen it.
Alas, your wish for a Heimat DVD release a la Decalogue may come to fruition before mine.
How was the second 13 episode series?
re: Die Nacht
Not familar with this film. Have you seen Parsifal? If so, what do you think of it?

HEIMAT is an amazing miniseries.
Haven't heard about a HITLER: A.F.F.G release, but given that Syberberg's PARSIFAL is on DVD, who knows?

Parsifal
I was hoping for more incentive than the "pacing is glacial" comment on
the imdb to induce me to crack open my copy.
Do you happen to know the OAR of Parsifal? The DVD is 4:3, I don't think it was
originally made for TV, or was it?
And if you everd do hear of an Our Hitler release, please post here. Thanks.
