new version of In The Mood For Love ?
 

before anyone mentions it, I am not asking about the French R2 PAL version. I will not be buying a region-free player for quite some time, let alone a PAL tv, or even a converter......

but I am tired of waiting for a US dvd release of this film. I noticed on pokerindustries that there are two different dvds listed other than the UK-PAL one. One has "description coming soon" listed. Is this a new release?
I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it?
The other one says it is a Korean import.
I have seen people mention the Mei Ah release. Is that either of these two. I'm just looking for a place to get the best version I can play with a Region 1 player.
Any suggestions as to where to buy, or what to buy are welcome.

The Mei Ah edition is from Hong Kong and is the one that says "description coming soon." I would venture to say that no description is coming at all, since this is the first verion Pokerindustries carried and has said "description coming soon" for many months.

This is the first I've heard of an edition from Korea, so I can't tell you if its transfer is better than Mei Ah's. I can tell you that transfers from Korea tend to be a bit better than those from Hong Kong in general. Considering that, and the fact that the Korean edition is cheaper, you may want to give this newly listed edition a try.

Korean release
 

Dvdasian has both the HK and Korean releases. The Korean
release is by Daum who also put out the excellent (movie/quality)
Samurai Fiction. According to the dvdasian site the Daum release
has the trailer and bios which the Mei Ah doesn't:

"Widescreen transfer, Talent Files, Scene Selections,
Theatrical Trailers, Interactive Menus "

Quite a few are. The Samurai Fiction was, but I can't take advantage of it.

(It's anamorphic but Mandarin audio only)

So you mean there are no English subs?

No - the film's original language track is Cantonese, not Mandarin. In other words, it's dubbed.

I rolled the dice and ordered the Korean version. I expect it to arrive today.
