Do you like British comedy ?

I'm just asking because I'm a bit annoyed that Blackadder Goes Forth is only available on Region 1.
Is there a great demand for this absolute classic in America?

What about other British favourites?

You Brits and your funny way of spelling "favorites" and your comedy.... ;)

Actually, I don't really care much for British comedy, to be serious. Some of it's okay, but I haven't even heard of Blackadder and that's stupid that it wouldn't be available in its own Region. But then, Friends are only available by season overseas and not here. And Jungle 2 Jungle is available there, but not here.

I just loves Brit huMOUR. Starting with all the Python stuff along with the box sets of The Black Adder (!), Ab Fab, & Fawlty Towers. My 13-year old son who tolerates no fools -ha- is a big fan of MP and the Black one. He gets it well and seeks me out to watch an episode. We are halfway through the MP sketches and on the second disk of Rowan's Adder. I wonder if he will go for Edina next!

Check the release dates though, BGF has been out since June in America. A bit difficult to understand.
Does your player and TV handle PAL okay?

JANK - Have you not watched Blackadder Goes Forth yet ? It's by far the best series. Fantastic.

I love the Ealing comedies like The Ladykillers, Kind Hearts And Coronets and Lavender Hill Mob.

And, of course, anything by Monty Python.

The Black Adder!!

Fever Dawg - I believe the "BA Goes Forth" is on the 5th disk of the box set. Since my son and I are going through them 'in order' we shall yes yes get to it. (Forgive, but we don't go ahead of each other and wait until we both are available to watch them together - so we are in no hurry and are taking our time to boot). Both of us are anticipating the "BA Christmas Carol" too!!

Just a painful reminder that The Last Shout is not available in Region 1.

Not wating to get pedantic but surely it's on the fourth disc.
The fourth series, ie the double meaning of the title ... BlackAdder Goes Forth. Yes I agree you should watch them in order, although there really isn't any link 'plot-wise' through the series.
The "Christmas Carol" is great too. You'll love it.
What did you think of the 1st series? It get's highly criticised and even Richard Curtis said he knew he needed to change the concept for the 2nd series.

Off topic but...

It's funny you should mention this. Last night on the Tonight Show Jay was doing newspaper 'headlines' and he showed a quote from some small town newspaper that was asking people on the street where they would like to go for vacation. Some guy said 'England because when I went to college I majored in English.'
