Kieslowski's Three Colors R2 French Box set?

Does anyone have more information about this?

Coffret Kieslowski : Bleu / Blanc / Rouge
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005BEXR

MK2's website doesn't have much information, but perhaps someone in France might be kind enough to call up MK2 and find out if there will be English subtitles on this box set. Pretty please?

I already sent MK2 an email a few weeks ago and received no response.

I anxiously await this.. incidentally it looks like these are going to be released in R2 UK as well by Artificial Eye, but there won't be any extras.

Given the uncertainly as to the presence of english subtitles I've gone ahead and pre-ordered the UK release of these discs. Uk release is late October afaik - titles already listed for pre-order @ blackstar and Bensons World.

(at this point I really don't need some english-free DVD to go with my japanese -subtitled LD.. and learning to speak French and Polish, or to read Japanese is not really a viable option either

...you might want to take a look at the - much-too-elaborate - mk2 site...

http://www.mk2.fr/new/home/home.asp

...click on 'catalogue' in the toolbar on the left to get to the English version...

. . . . . .

Hendrick - I've already scoured MK2's website, and there's no info yet about the DVD set.

Artificial Eye UK set *WILL* have extras...

To wit:

Three Colours Red: Scene by scene audio commentary by Krzystof Kieslowski. Making of documentary. Interviews with Irene Jacob, Jacques Witta (Editor) & Martin Karmitz (Producer). Soundtrack excerpts. Theatrical trailer. Widescreen anamorphic. DD5.1

Three Colours White: Scene by scene audio commentary by Krzystof Kieslowski. Making Of Documentary. Interviews with Julie Delpy & Martin Karmitz (Producer). Soundtrack excerpts. Theatrical trailer. Widescreen anamorphic. DD5.1.

Three Colours Blue: Scene by scene audio commentary by Krzystof Kieslowski. Interviews with Juliette Binoche, Jacques Witta (Editor) & Matin Karmitz (Producer). Soundtrack excerpts. Theatrical trailer. Widescreen anamorphic. DD5.1.
The Kieslowski commentary tracks will feature English subs.

May have done this for a laserdisc release or similar. Either way I'll be trading up my VHS for this one.

The question is: is the audio commentary in English or Polish?

Maybe he did them for a laser disc.

I was as surprised as anyone to discover that Kieslowski recorded a commentary at some point. I'm not sure how fluent he was in English. Since the commentary will be subtitled in English, one can assume it's probably spoken in Polish or French.

Fnac says:

Le commentaire de Julie Delpy

soooo, what I think is the commentary is not by Kieslowski, but by Julie - probably in French and with that the subtitles.

I am definitely looking forward to this one - awesome!!! Guess no Godfather box, hehe.

Sebastian.

Is Artificial Eye releasing the full box set including the fourth DVD with the Kieslowski documentary?

no english subs...

Hey, is it possible that there are NO English subtitles on this one???? Neither FNAC nor whatever other site I looked at it says English subtitles, but NONE at all!

Please anyone Anti-confirm this, since that would be one big shock!

Thank you,

Sebastian.

Three Colors Artificial Eye Edition UK

Here is the specs for the UK discs:

Artificial Eye have let us know that "Three Colours Trilogy" will be released 29th October. The disks will feature a DD 5.1 soundtrack and a 16:9 anamorphic picture. Here are the specs they have sent over:

Blue
Krzysztof Kieslowski Masterclass (this is about 10 minutes worth of archive footage of the director talking about how he filmed 'Blue')
Interview with Juliette Binoche
Interview with Jacques Witta (editor)
Interview with Marin Karmitz (producer)
Theatrical trailer
Extracts from the original soundtrack composed by Zbigniew Preisner

White
Krzysztof Kieslowski Masterclass
'Making of' documentary
Interview with Julie Delpy
Interview with Marin Karmitz (producer)
Theatrical trailer
Extracts from the original soundtrack composed by Zbigniew Preisner

Red
Krzysztof Kieslowski Masterclass
'Making of' documentary
'Red' in Cannes featurette
Interview with Irene Jacob
Interview with Jacques Witta (editor)
Interview with Marin Karmitz (producer)
Theatrical trailer
Extracts from the original soundtrack composed by Zbigniew Preisner

Taken from:

That seems to be a good release.
The only difference I can spot is the audio commentary tracks mentioned in the post at the beginning. If these are real I think this will be a very good release.
