Legend Of The Sacred Stone

Has anyone heard of or seen this film? For the uninitiated, it's a Kung Fu Puppet Theatre movie... yes, you heard that right! http://www.pilimovie.com.tw/en/index.htm

I believe this film came out in July 2000 but I haven't heard of any DVD release or any theatrical release for that matter outside of a few festivals.

Any info? Anyone? Bueller?? Bueller????

Yes, it is available on DVD. Unfortunately, it has no English subtitles, and purchased domestically (U.S.) it's relatively expensive. The last time I checked, it was available through yesasia.com, an e-tailer located in the U.S. I believe the DVD is made in Taiwan (don't quote me on that, though), and so you may find it cheaper on some of the Taiwanese DVD sites (if you can read Chinese, and if they ship to your country). I haven't seen this title listed on any H.K. e-tailers' sites, except for the now defunct oneasia.com.

Legend of the Sacred Stone:

Taiwan DVD: No subs, full length cut, 2 discs.
Taiwan VCD: No subs, full length cut

Korean DVD: Yet to be released, might have subs, may well be cut, most likely region coded.

American Release: Was being pushed for by the production company in Taiwan, no press release for a rights acquisition/home video release for the North American market that I've seen.

Festival Prints: Cut, missing quite a bit of footage.

Thanks for the information guys! Much appreciated! I'm a little shocked that some footage was cut for the festival releases... any idea what the trims were?

Hopefully the Korean release will be uncut and include subs.

Cheers,

-matt
