"Frantic" international version???

Hey all,

Just read that one of the other regions have a widescreen version of the Roman Polanski movie "Frantic" and i was just wondering what happened to the US version of it!! Why did we get the barebones fullscreen version??? One of Warner's cheapies!

Anyone know anything?

...the DVD released in France is anamorphic 1.85:1...

...there never was such a thing as 'more footage' for a 'European edition'...
