HKMDB hosting help needed
 

The acting administrator of HKMDB has put out an SOS for hosting suggestions. Anyone here have any ideas? Geoff?

If we knew more info such as bandwidth requirements we might be able to help find a new home for HKMDB.

He should consider a partnership with AsianDVDGuide. Reviews of the movies as well as the DVDs.

It sounds like he is more concerned about being able to finance the operation. I'd say he should get connected with one of the biggest domestic importer of HK films online and they can link to each other - like Amazon has with IMDB.

Also, he could run several inexpensive mirrors to handle the bandwidth rather than try to find one host who will charge an arm and a leg for the maximum bandwidth.

Also - I'm sure if he threatened to shut it down, people would just offer to host it.

That's Strange. My message from before didn't post. Anyway, we might be interested in helping out if we had more info such as the bandwidth requirements and type of server needed to host the site.
