I am interested in the European version of Frank Herbert's Dune mini-series since, I believe, it includes extra scenes not aired on during the Sci-Fi Channel presentation or on the Artisan DVD.
I went to http://www.amazon.de to see if they have a version available which they do. I am aware that it is in PAL and Region 2 format, and I intend to purchase a region free player to watch it as well as other R2 DVDs such as the Buffy The Vampire Slayer or Friends series.
However, I was unable to obtain confirm whether or not German R2 dvds subtitled/dubbed and whether or not it can be turned off? Any assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated!
Regards

Well, there is not one specific standard which is followed.
You may want to e-mail amazon.de with your concerns.
If the DVD was originally an American film it probably has
the original audio track. Whether or not the subtitles are removable is a different issue entirely....maybe yes...maybe no. You may also want to post this question in the International Forum as you may get more responses.
