I have:

Point Break
Jackie Brown
Lock, Stock, and two smoking barrels
Snatch
Girl on the Bridge---liked this one

I am just looking to get something not available in the U.S.
Genre does not matter. Does anyone have any favorite Region 2 films---hopefully available at http://www.amazon.co.uk since I have some GC's for that site.

Miami Vice

This is the pilot and The Golden Triangle parts 1&2

The sound is only DD2.0 and it's FS, but that's highly likely to be the only version ever available.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...742530-8120613

It's relatively cheap, though.
I intend to watch my copy tonight, so if you want to know it's quality, let me know.

LS&2SB is available R1, just not the directors cut.

Mad Max is available in R2 Japan with the original Aussie dialog.

those are the only one's I've kept track of recently.

then again, I guess Chopper just came out in R2 and R4, but I haven't seen it, so I can't say anything about it.

What I would like to know is: does it have the original music or have they changed it. There was talk of them changing it because they lost the rights.

BTW: What is the quality like?

TIA,
Jon.

Any sites with English front ends (and relatively cheap postage)?

Cheers,
Jon.

The only Japan sites I am aware of are http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ and http://www.sazuma.com/

Neither of these offer particularly cheap shipping unfortunately - if you know anyone who lives there or who might be going there for a holiday, you would be better off getting them to stop in at an HMV store or Seibu Wave and buying it (Cry Baby) across the counter.

Turks Fruit, i.e. Turkish Delight is available in Region 1 in excellent anamorphic transfer with Verhoeven's commentary.

As far as I can tell it's all the original music, with Phil's song timed exactly the way I remebered it. I watched this with great nostalgia.

TIA,
Jon.
Quality is pretty good, except for some grain in specific outdoor/high contrast scenes. The intro has some stains occasionally. To be perfectly honest, I have only had time to watch it once, and I was too busy sucking it up to really pay attention to the quality. Then again, if the quality was bad I would've noticed.

As for the sound: it works fine in DD2.0.

Hope this helps,

Len
