Someone mentioned that if I had an all-region player (which I do), I should not get the english R2 Eraserhead, but rather should go with the Japanese one. Anyone know any e-tailers where I can get it? Thanks a bunch.

Well, I checked it and it's out of stock. Anyone else have any other sites? By the way, is this a good transfer? The last time I saw the movie, it looked so bad that if the scene was marginally dark half the screen would be pitch black.

I got my Eraserhead DVD (Japanese Region 2) from http://www.sazuma.com but they took a really long time. I think it was a month or two. I've ordered other Japanese DVDs from http://www.cdjapan.co.jp and even though they're in Japan, the price is about the same (even with the shipping), and the service is superb. My last order made it to me in around a week (from Japan!!). I highly recomend them, even if they have to special order it.

You can special order from laserexchange....They can get any disc that is still in print--I imagine they only keep a small supply of R2 disc's on hand....I ordered from sazuma almost 2 years ago and also had to wait a few months....Try

http://www.rpmrecords.com

Also specialize in R2. Ordered Lost Highway from them about a year ago and their customer service and shipping was great.

Also, Eraserhead is WS and the transfer is a little spotty at the begining but is remarkably very clear of any artifacts and scratches for a low budget 20 some year old film.

Personally, I would stay away from Sazuma. Their prices are decent but they are very slow and they overcharge on every single order. It often takes several weeks and several e-mails to get the proper credit, and my last order (which will be my LAST order) never got properly credited.

This is a known problem there, and yet they continue to overcharge (blaming it on "exchange rates", even though you order in US funds). Judging from the e-mails I've received, it seems to be a amateurish, 2-man operation that is in way over their heads.

I've had much better service from http://www.laserexchange.com
