It seems Amazon is now shipping from a Canadian hub.
I just received Spartacus:CC from a Windsor, ON address shipped via Canadapost Expresspost.
How they justify charging $7.95 US shipping, when Chapters HMV etc., charge only a few Canadian dollars for expresspost shipping, is beyond me.

At least you got it...

I am still waiting for the Red Planet and Charlie's Angels pre-orders! They sent them 1 month ago and I e-mailed them but "1 month" is a regular standard for "international" shipments and it doesn't matter that I live in Canada. According to them it takes the same time to ship to Canada or to Australia!

Amazon now use an international branch of the German post to deliver to Canada.

The final part of the delivery is made via Xpresspost, but
you still have to take into account the shipping from California to Canada...

From Amazon:

"We now use Deutsche Post Global Mail exclusively to pick up Canadian WorldMail shipments from our U.S. fulfillment centers. Deutsche Post Global Mail clears the shipments across the border and final delivery is made by Canada Post. We believe that Deutsche Post will provide our customers with a more efficient delivery service."

As long as there are no customs charges, I personally don't care who they use or how long it takes.

Erm didn't you know?

Amazon is planning on launching Amazon.ca...no joke. They've allready been doing a fair bit of market research on tailoring it to the Canadian market, in fact I was greeted by one of their obnoxious market phone surveys a few weeks ago. Unfortunately their prices don't speak much in their favor, especially the shipping.
