I did a 3 month free trial earlier this year. I guess it calculated that in because I now have 1 month free.

I know free is free, but if I'm already paying for a family subscription to Spotify and that's not going to stop (my daughter would be PISSED), is there any real reason to get Apple Music as well on a temporary basis? Any unique features or exclusive music on their service?

Saw a Verizon commercial where they are offering a 6 month free subscription. Haven't looked into it to see if the offer is only for new customers or all customers.

It is for current customers as well. I signed up for it- after the six months, it is $9.99 per line that uses the service. I tried it out this weekend using Apple Play in my car, and it was great. I currently pay for Amazon prime unlimited music, but I found the Apple Music much better and easier to use (if only it were compatible with the echo)
