Not super deal-y but maybe a good reminder that CostCo does discounted theater gift cards.
I have the Cinemark movie club and whenever I upgrade to DBox or 3D I can pay the cheaper member upgrade price with discounted gift cards ($40 buys $50). Same with concessions, get your member discount then pay with your discounted gift cards.

Reminder that tomorrow is National Cinema Day. Haven't decided which movie to see. AMC swapped some of their movies around and added some showtimes around 10 or 11am.

Theater was at least half full at 11:30am. As I left, the theater and parking lot was full of activity. Not too shabby. If it was this busy across the country wouldn't doubt they'll do it again next year.

Saw Spider-Man and it was full of the most obnoxious kids on the planet. I'm glad I had already seen it before and was trying to focus on the new scenes. I guess with $3 tickets that's cheaper than the baby sitter. I will never complain about ticket prices again

I took the family to see Jaws in 3D yesterday. Probably my favorite film and I've seen it dozens of times, but this was the first on the big screen. The theater was probably 75% full. There was a line at the ticket counter and a long one at concessions. Part of this could be contributed to the Saturday and discount prices. It also seemed as if they were short-staffed from what I could see.

We went to Regal today to see Jaws 3D. Asked the guy behind the counter, he said they had around 3500 people yesterday. I think they have 17 screens.

Now to see if my small Regal nearby will have them. I'm not seeing Beautiful Blue Eyes listed this weekend at the moment.

Re: Movie Theater deals
I was able to get into both free shows. I had a problem with Dawn of the Dead because my wife and I each used our apps to get a free ticket. And when we went to get hers, it wouldn't let her sit next to me because there wouldn't be 2 seats on either side. And the "Sit next to me" thing from my app wasn't working. So she's sitting one seat away, but should be able to move over.

Weird, my Regal doesn't have times yet.
Edit: says limited theatrical run, thenParamount+ Showtime
If no times at my local one, I'll still get ticket somewhere to get the credit for diamond status.

FYI, I went to a kiosk today to redeem my free tickets (to get points and visits on my account). Beautiful Blue Eyes is not playing anywhere here, but that guest ticket worked for Confess, Fletch. Just scan your RCC membership at the ticket selection screen for a Fletch showing, and free BBE guest ticket should show up as an option (along with Confess, Fletch, if you still have that guest ticket also). So, I got 2 Fletch tickets on 2 different days to maximize my visits/bonus points.

Re: Movie Theater deals
In a limited amount of experimentation at the kiosk, it seemed like you could use any Fletch, Beautiful Blue Eyes, or Dawn of the Dead 3D promo guest ticket for any showing of Confess, Fletch. The passes did not seem to work that way for any other showings.
