With the new way the search on Amazon includes Prime (non-purchase) titles, I find it incredibly difficult of not almost impossible to find any Free episodes anymore. Has anyone else been able to find a method which produces good reresult

Both Amazon and VUDU offer fewer freebies these days. They were giving them away like candy a couple of years ago.

A couple anime were offered up for free recently. I believe it was Amazon matching Microsoft giving away some anime shows. I want to say it was the first season of High School DxD.

I think TV networks are done with giving away the first episode as a free purchase. I've seen a number of shows put up the first episode on Youtube, which the network can take down after the show starts airing. TBS's "Miracle Workers" and IFC's "Documentary Now" both had the first episode of the season up on Youtube recently. Another thing is a lot of the networks have their own sites/apps/services now, so they may put the first episode up for free for a while on those, to drive you to their service.

The first episode of Miracle Workers is free on Vudu right now- I check them regularly for free stuff. Agreed that it is harder now to find free titles on Amazon now, but I rarely use them anyways. They still have these shows for purchase there, so free premiere episodes are a good way to drive one towards that although I still haven't bought any that way.

I've given up on trying to find free content on Amazon- I kept a bookmark for it but they keep moving it around and I can't find wherever it is now. I use them the least of any service anyways for a number of reasons.

I think Amazon stopped handing out video freebies for the most part. VUDU also dropped them as well. They were ways to build market share when digital video was still relatively new. The best thing going these days is when VUDU or Amazon has price glitches or mistakes, but they rarely last long.

Vudu still has a few free episodes but you have to hunt for them. I usually check every new show that gets listed to see if they have a free episode or preview clip. They've got a Nickelodeon special right now called Kid of the Year.
