Sylvania Blu-ray Player NB530SLX - $42.49 - K-Mart B&M YMMV
 

My K-Mart had these previously on clearance for about $75 but now have lowered them to $42.49. Reviews on Amazon don't sound to bad, probably a good choice if you need a second player for a bed room or something. Looks like the firmware has to be burned to a CD to update.

This is a great player. No BD-Live, but it can do everything else. I bought mine in mid-2009, have never updated the firmware once, and have been able to play literally every Blu-ray I've put in, without a single problem. Even "Avatar," which a lot of people couldn't even play WITH a firmware update, played on this baby. Highly recommended.

There have also been some sightings of the Sony BDP-S360 on clearance for just $60 at K-Mart. Alas, none of my local stores had any left in stock.

I'm waiting til it's super-cheap to make the switch. Alas, all the K-Marts in these parts have closed up shop.

My dad picked me up a Sony one today. I assume it was the BDP-S360 because it was $60 + tax. I just wanted an extra for the bedroom so I hope this is a good one. I read the reviews at AMAZON and 201 people gave it 3-5 stars versus 36 that gave it 1 or 2 stars. I just figured this one was better than a Sylvania which they didn't have at my store.

I picked up the only Sylvania one at the K-Mart here in Muskegon. $42.49 + tax out the door!

Interestingly, the player was sitting on top of a Toshiba HD-A3 player that scanned at $149.99 on the price scanner! rotfl

Thanks OP! Snagged a Sony BDP-630 for $58.71 out the door w/ the coupon. Now I can retire the Samsung BD-P1000 in the bedroom. Man, is that thing slow!

I ventured out to my KMart today but they were selling the Sylvania for 170 bucks. No other blu ray players.

I did not. I ended up getting one for $97 from walmart.com.

Too bad. It probably would have scanned at $42.49. You should go back to K-Mart and check. You can return a Wal*Mart online order to a B&M store for a refund to save on the return shipping charge. You might end up pocketing $55.:)

I couldn't find the Sylvania player, but I did find the Sony player, but when I scanned it, it rang up 179.99

Quite possibly. But that was the only one I saw, so if that's the case, they didn't have either of the clearanced players in stock.

My semi-local K-Mart only had the BDP-370. No Sylvania either.
