32" LCD 1080p deal?

I'm looking for a 32" LCD television...has to have 1080p. I'm not as picky about the brand.

Any sweet deals you folks know of?

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

At 32" would you really benefit from 1080p? Wouldn't you be just as well off with 720p? The larger the set the larger the difference, no?

I don't even think you see much of a different until you get to 42" or so.

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

I was thinking the same thing. I'm thinking of upgrading my bedroom TV to a 32" or maybe a 37", and I think that 720p would be fine for either of those.

This week, Target has this deal:

Vizio 37" 1080p FULL HD 120 Hz LCD TV
FREE Vizio Blu-ray player and cables when you buy this TV, a $210 value! Blu-ray player and cables packaged separately. Quantities limited; no rain checks.

In-store only. Not sure how good the TV is though.

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

I've been looking for a deal on a 32" also....but at that size I'll take 720p. I'm not too picky on the name brand either...just dont want any garbage like westinghouse or emerson. I found a Toshiba 32" 720 on tigerdirect for $319 and ordered 2 (one for myself and another as a gift), but the order was cancelled bc it was out of stock. Anyone know of a good site where I can get a similar TV in the low $300 s?

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

I know that this doesn't help the OP since they are now out of stock, but I was able to score a Sammy 32B360 for $325 last week at Crutchfield($345-$20 coupon). It's a sweet set.

It's pretty noticeable with gaming and if you use the TV as a monitor. Not so much on TV/movies, though still noticeable (odds are you won't be watching this from 10' like you would a bigger TV.) -- tough call if it's worth the price, I'd say yes if doing the first two things, no if you're just watching TV/movies.

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

Ugh these price drops are making me sick, I bought a Toshiba 32 in 720p on Black Friday 2008 for about 450, now you can get it for under 300? Damnit. It's a good TV though, I've been happy with it.

My thanks as well! The crap Dynex we ordered for my parents-in-law from Best Buy on Black Friday for almost the same price ($368 after taxes and shipping) is getting returned.

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

Not sure if it's YMMV or not... but my Sam's Club has had a 32" Vizio for $338 for quite some time now. Don't know the model number offhand but it looks very good.

Did you ever get the TV? I'm curious because I'm in the market for a 32/37" for the bedroom. I have some BB giftcards that's burning a hole in my pocket

Yea Costso has had one similar price. What is nuts I paid 599 for the same TV in May of 2008. I would like to upgrade my 46inch Vizio to the 55 inch. I have had the 46 inch since 2006 and it has been great.

Re: 32" LCD 1080p deal?

I'm gonna need another TV soon. I paid $450 for my Magnavox 720p 32" back in 2008. Good to see prices falling.
