Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

Saw this on SD.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/subs/primec...gnup/main.html

I was offered a 1-month trial for the first time since Dec '06. And some are reporting getting 3 months.

If you don't plan on upgrading after the trial:

Your Account --> Manage Prime Membership --> Do Not Upgrade --> Turn Off Auto-Upgrade

Should I do that now or wait until I no longer want to use it?

Edit:
It said it went through OK, but then I got this while seraching Amazon:
"Sorry for the interruption but we want to make sure that we handle your requests correctly. Thank you.

Yes, I want to sign up for Prime.
No, I do not want to sign up for Prime. Please take me back to Amazon.com."

It's asking me to select one of the two options. I don't want to be charged, just use the free membership. Any suggestions?

Called them and they said select "NO". My prime membership was still there, so I guess everything is OK.

^ I did it immediately after getting the offer. It won't affect your free trial.

Is there a way to find out before signing up if its 1 month or 3 free.

With the way they are doing their "Black Friday" sales, I won't meet FSSS. So now is a good opportunity to try it out.

I had a month trial too around four years ago and it let me sign up. Got one month free.

Hope they don't change their mind after I order stuff.

I used the trial years ago also. Going through the process, it seems to allow me to use it again, since it presents the start free trial button, but it also states in bold print directly above that button "Free Trial is available to new members only. Limit one per household." So do I qualify for it again or not?

Re: Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

When I click on "Continue to Free Trial Signup", it takes me to a page where I have to select the payment method. If I select one, and click "Continue", will it sign me up for Prime or the free trial?

It signed me up for the free trial when I clicked Continue. I guess they want to be certain that you are using the same form of payment for your purchases.

Re: Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

Thanks OP for the heads up. I noticed this on my account yesterday when I placed an order but didn't check into it. Went ahead and cancelled and reordered Gilmore Girls Season 7 I needed for $14.99 and now it's getting here 5 days sooner.

Re: Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

Added something to my cart today and the offer was there. Accepted it and immediately changed my account to not upgrade. Went back to my cart and placed my order. Now I am getting release day delivery for free on Term. Salv.(blu-ray) next week and did not have to order anything else to get free shipping.

With BF sales this week, this is perfect timing for me. No need to pay for shipping, looking for fsss fillers & two day shipping to boot.

Re: Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

Just got in for a month free (even though I had a free trial in '06).

Perfect timing, too, as I'm doing most of mt Christmas shopping on Amazon this year. Thanks, OP!

Guessing you can't get Prime Free Trial if you were not offered it. I used a free trial earlier this year, looks like I can't use it even though I really want to. Free 2 day shipping is awesome.

I also was offered, accepted, and immediately canceled my Prime membership. Awesome deal for the holidays!

Be sure you aren't logged in when you click on the link from the OP, I thought I was out of luck, but tried again using a different browser where I wasn't logged in and was able to get it.

Re: Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

I used a free trial a few years back and canceled after the trial. A year or so later I was offered another free trial and I signed up again just to get an email telling me my CC was charged the $79.xx. I called customer service to cancel and they told me that you can only have one free trial and that's why I got charged. Make sure you guys check that you are not getting charged for it.
I definitely would like another free trial just for the holiday season.

Re: Amazon Prime 1-Month Trial is Back...

So, when you sign up for Prime, does that mean your items are shipped same day vis USPS or does the two day shipping indicate that UPS is used? Thinking of an order today with the free trial, but I'm leaving town Wednesday and didn't want to come back in town to a bunch of UPS delivery notices stuck to the door and have to go pick up my order somewhere.

Thanks...I may hold off on this. I had a free trial maybe 2 years ago....I don't want to be charged again, although I know Amazon is pretty helpful when it comes to Customer Service. I suppose I could try, although I only need a few things from Amazon, and I get wait for free shipping.
