Surprised no one has posted this yet. Caught the commercial tonight during the Super Bowl. Who's in for a free Grand Slam?

Plus, you get a coupon book with eight coupons... 4 BOGO's, 2 - 25% off coupons, 1 coupon good for a free dessert, and 1 coupon good for a free order of pancake puppies.

My first thought was that this was going to be like those other promotions... you know, the Tommy's anniversary promotion where they rolled back the prices, but the lines are so long that the prices aren't worth it. But there are a ton of Dennys, and they've actually allocated a lot of time for it. Probably still not worth the wait (and I pity the poor wait staff that has to work tomorrow), but I might drive by to see if there's a line.
On the other hand, how are they going to keep the homeless out?

Saw this on the news. Line was around the corner by 6am, AND they didn't advertise this but it is "while supplies last". So you could be there for a few hours only to get screwed. F that. I'll take a bagel-egg-and-cheese and two hash browns at Mickey D's for $2.74 tax included with no waiting.

I drove by this at 6:15am and their parking lot was full, but no lines and it didn't look like anyone was standing around waiting inside either. ...but then the snow coming down in the morning might have something to do with that.

A friend told me they went at 7am, the line was not too bad. They got in, and got out. No problems. I guess the fact that there's 4 Denny's in the area had something to do with it.

On the L.A. area news, it was one of the top stories this morning *sigh*
People, with evidently nothing better to do (look for a job perhaps?) were lined up at 5:00 am for a breakfast that costs $2.99 anyway..plus, with tip and coffee/o.j. - you get the idea...sheeple, gotta love 'em, see something on the Superbowl and it's all over

I guess if money's tight and you have nowhere to be. Denny's is the spot, regardless of the lines.

Ended up being 30 minutes away from the closest Denny's. If I had been near one, I was wondering what the lines, if any, would have been like at closer to 2 o'clock.

Denny's promotion leads to grand slam on some wallets
ROSENBERG — A trip out for a free breakfast at Denny's took a big bite out of the wallets of several people in Rosenberg on Tuesday.
Some of those who went to the local Denny's Corp. restaurant for a free Grand Slam breakfast Tuesday morning came out to find their cars had been towed from their spots outside other business establishments. The bill to get their cars back cost $217.15, or the equivalent of about 70 of the $5.99 Grand Slam breakfasts.
"I was just here to pick up my mother-in-law in her wheelchair. All the handicapped parking spaces were full, so I parked here in a regular space," Dalia Molina, of Rosenberg, told the Fort Bend Herald outside Hollywood Video, which was closed at the time. "I was gone two minutes and when I came wheeling my mother-in-law out in her wheelchair, my truck was gone."
"They knew that Denny's was going to have this today. Why not have someone out here to tell us where the line is drawn — where we can't park? I'm going to fight this. I want my money back. They charge $20 a day for storage fee, plus I had to pay for a cab."
Signs were posted in the various lots warning that vehicles could be towed. Denny's manager Inteshar Masud said he also placed a sign on the door of his restaurant warning that the cars could be towed if they parked in illegal spaces.
Jim Thomas, owner of J&H Towing and Recovery, said his company towed eight or 10 vehicles. Some were picked up after they received calls from managers and others were picked up as they patrolled the lots. He said his company specializes in working with private property owners.
Mayor Joe Gurecky said he was shocked to hear the news and contacted Police Chief Robert Gracia to look into the city's statutes about towing.
