Live.com Cashback for EBay Again! 10% as of 12/20/09

Just a note that as of late last night, the EBay cashback through Live.com has gone back up to 30% for BIN items (after being stalled at 8% for weeks).

For those unfamiliar, you basically go to Live.com and do a search for an item like ipod, wii, etc. It will take you to a page with a 30% off link for EBay for the item. Once you click that, it will redirect you to EBay and show a 30% icon at the top of the EBay page which will apply to any BIN item on EBay (not just the item you searched for). Follow the instructions to sign up for the live.com cashback and that 30% will be available for cashback in 60 days.

I posted some images and further details in this previous thread here for what to look for:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/store-forum...arch-ebay.html

The cashback % goes up and down without any notice, so act quickly!

*edit* 10/6 - Looks like it has dropped to 20% now.
*edit* 10/13 - Back to 30% as of a couple of days ago.
*edit* 10/15 - You can now get up to 12 cashbacks per EBay account!
See Item vi.
http://pages.ebay.com/cashbackoffer/...ml?_trksid=m38
*edit* 10/22 - Cashback is now 25%.
*edit* 11/15 - Cashback for EBay seems dead right now. Hopefully will return.
*edit* 11/16 - Active at 25% again.
*edit* 11/28 - Back to 30%
*edit* 12/2 - Back down to 25%
*edit* 12/2 - Appears to be 20% now. Per KenBuzz, post #151: "It's 20%, but you can get 25% if you search for something like "wii", which will give you a 20% eBay link and a 25% "eBay Stores" link. Click on the Stores link... the 25% banner will follow you around the site regardless of whether you stay in Stores or not and should be in effect when you buy something."
*edit* 12/5 - Down to 15%.
*edit* 12/5 - Cashback is gone, hopefully temporarily.
*edit* 12/6 - A repeated search for something like wii might finally bring up 15%. (Just came to report it, but Koobface beat me to it in Post #183. )
*edit* 12/7 - Cashback is now 8%.
*edit* 12/18 - Cashback appears to be gone.
*edit* 4/23 - The search "atari" is now getting 14%.
*edit* 8/10/09 - 10%
*edit* 8/12/09 - 12%
*edit* 8/17/09 - 14%
*edit* 8/18/09 - 13%
*edit* 8/19/09 - 10%
*edit* 8/25/09 - 15%
*edit* 8/26/09 - 10%
*edit* 8/31/09 - 8%
*edit* 12/5/09 - 15%
*edit* 12/6/09 - 20% (w/certain searches, like cheap wii, Panasonic, or Sony)
*edit* 12/7/09 - 8%
*edit* 12/20/09 - 10%
dropped to 8%
*edit* 2/4/10 - 10%

Thanks, OP!

I just dipped into Blu for the first time. I managed to grab a Sony BDP-S350 for a grand total of $206.96 after the eventual rebate. I had this player in my Amazon cart but was waiting for it to come down to $250 (It's gone down from $299 to $280 in five-dollar increments since yesterday). But this was too good a deal to pass up. Now I've got to think of some more high-priced things to get while this deal is so hot.

Again, thanks for the heads up on the rebate increase. What a deal!

I missed the original 35% offer, so now i'm thinking about trying this.
so how reliable is this?
has anyone gotten the cashback credited to their paypal account?
If so, how long did it take?

Yes, I've received 3 cashback for purchases I made on ebay.

It takes hours or days for the cashback acknowledgment in your live.com account. It takes another 60 days for a waiting period (due to returns and such). Then you can request a cashout to paypal or check and then about 2 weeks later, you should have the funds. So about 2 1/2 - 3 months total.

Click the following link, then towards the top left, click on "live search cashback" next to www.ebay.com. You should see the 30% off banner at the top of the ebay homepage.

I placed two orders yesterday, and had the e-mails confirming the cash back this morning. That works for me. What a deal though.

Hmmm... my wife and kid will be happy - Sarah Jane S1 and Doctor Who: Invisible Enemy are both cheaper with 30% off the BIN price from Buy.com's eBay store than they will be during the upcoming 20% off sale at DD.... and we get them now instead of waiting another 6 weeks.

TOO BAD I CAN'T GET THE DEALIO TO WORK! (rats!)

Too good to pass up!

I had to get something else, so I grabbed an ONKYO TX-SR606 receiver. I think I got a good price. So to summarize:

206.96 = Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player
274.95 = Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver
481.91 = TOTAL (after rebates)

My introduction to Blu-ray costs a lot more than I was expecting, but I think I should be set for quite some time. Thanks again, OP!

Hmmm, not sure why it didn't work for you. Did you hit your 6 max cashbacks on your account? (Also, if you're buying 2 separate items, you will have to go back to the live.com search in between them to get the % off banner again.) Oh, or perhaps the seller doesn't do PayPal direct but goes through another auction checkout method?

You're welcome lumberjack -- glad you found some good deals!

Note that there isn't always a banner at the top of the ebay page. As long as you see the 30% logo after you hit BUY IT NOW, you're good to go.

It was something simpler - the firewall at work blocks the sponsored ads at Live.com. No sponsored ads, no ebay link. No linky, no clicky, no dealy.

Works from home, though. I snapped up Torchwood S2.

PS - The Jack Ryan HD DVD set from InetVideo's eBay store for $104 shipped A/R is awfully tempting...

Thanks OP! I know theres no definite answer to this, but approximately how long do the higher % deals last? a matter of days? a week or two?

I have already taken advantage but I am curious how much time I have to take advantage of this!

nofancyname,

There's no telling, I'm afraid! I think the last 25% lasted a little over a week, but it can drop at any time.

I bought stuff through live at deep discount and it never showed- are you out of luck? It had a screen that 'purchases in this session will recieve the promotion' etc but didnt and that was a few weeks ago.

My final damage was a Wii and Wii Fit bundle, Wii Mariokart and extra wheel, Wii Remote, outdoor teak bench, and preorder PS3 game. They were all the best deals I'd be able to find anywhere. This was a great deal.
