2027 that is hilarious. Do you think the subscription department hates us?

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)

Now I wish I hadn't signed up for Food and Wine. I just received an email sayng that I would be billed for 19.99 and that I was part of their automatic subscription program. The email came directly from food and wine.
Did anybody else receive this email?

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)

I just got my first few issues of Newsweek from the last free giveaway and have to say that I am quite disappointed in it. I subscribed many years ago and always liked it but now it is quite thin on content and the writing seems sub-par. Has anyone else noticed this?

The content is just okay, I like Time better. The thinness comes from the lack of ads. Most magazines now are really thin because they can't sell the ad space like they used to--save for some of the women's magazines.

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)

Newsweek actually just improved in the last 2 issues. Tina Brown who used to edit Vanity Fair came in in a merger with the Daily Beast. The last couple years Newsweek was just horrible. A completely worthless throwaway with a bunch of essays. Since Tina Brown came in I actually read it again. It may not be as good as Newsweek in its prime but it is definitely worth reading to me now.

Thanks for Forbes. I get the WSJ already and love it. My ONLY dissapointment recently was Time Out NY. I really wanted it and requested it about 2 months ago. Never started ;-(

Oh well.

Oh well.
I'm beginning to think that it must be targeted to specific areas perhaps due to advertisement commitments. The two subscriptions I signed up for (GF and myself) have both begun; in my case the existing sub has been extended. We're both in NYC and it seems that the free sub signups from outside this area were never filled. Until someone from another region can state otherwise, it would seem to be local...
