I just got an issue of Forbes in the mail yesterday but didn’t remember signing up. Does anyone remember if this was one of the free offers?

Yes, it was at some point, because I get it too.

Do I need to put in my credit card info to get the free subscriptions from Mercury Magazines? Has any one had any negative experiences with them?

You should never have to submit CC info for a free subscription. Never.
Are you confusing it with the post application process where a pop-up page appears and they try to sell you the $2/yr. sub offers? Just close those pop-ups and you'll see confirmation of the original offer.

Yes, I was confusing it with the pop up. Sorry, I posted too quickly. Thanks for the reply though, good too know!

So does anyone know how to switch a Maxim subscription over to digital for a Nook? I emailed Maxim, but they said you have to go through the company you get the subscription from.

Don't ignore that offer. Many of those mags rarely show up free and they really are $2.00 for a year. a few weeks before your renewal is up they send a postcard with an 800 # to call to cancel - or it renews at regular rate. The company is called Suynapse and there are complaints about then on internet but as long as you call that # - it's a recording - and note your cancel confirm # you should have no problem. I first found them through BMG Music service (now defunct) and have used them successfully for at least 5 years. I love getting Time and Newsweek and Money at $2.00 per YEAR. Not free like some here, but I don't have to wait. (AND if I find a free offer for the same mag here I order it and just extend it.

CPU is pretty boring, unless you are as it says a power user. I was hoping for something similar to PC mag, but it's a lot more technical. Mine goes in the trash as soon as it is delivered each month as I am just not that interested in the inside of my computer

CPU sounds interesting to me, I'll go ahead and subscribe for kicks. :)
