One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 5)
Thought this was a good enough post to start off a new thread.

is the link to the enrollment offer to get 15 cds instead of 12.
You can definitely sign up with 2 accounts going to the same address within 2 days of one another & have no issues. I simply used different emails. Other people have done more, just confirming My personal experience.
As soon as your account is approved, which takes 1 - 2 days, even before you've received your initial enrollment package, & before you've ordered your fulfillment cd, you can start using the free codes.
3 free with no purchase codes: D8E1, F9E1
These are one time use only codes. You still have to pay shipping.
The "3 free" codes work for most 2cd sets and a few 3cd sets.
Dualdiscs, which you can do a title search for, count as 1. Any title that says 2cd, 1 cd/1dvd, 1cd 1 bonus cd, etc. will count as 2 or more. Most deluxe editions, which you can do a title search for, count this way.
Any cd which has an 'SE' {sales exempt} code next to it will not be available for free. It also will not count toward the "buy 1" in a "buy 1 get 4" offer. Some people have apparently used these 'SE' titles to fulfill their agreement, but they do not get you the bonus cds.
Dr. X regularly updates the current buy 1, get 4 free code, {THANK YOU!}, it is the best way to fulfill your agreement.
FWIW, @ the 2/3 off with free S&H 5 2cd sets @ $29.98 are $52.46
- buy 1 get 4 free comes up to $53.89
- @ the 2/3 off with free S&H 5 2cd sets @ $24.98 are $43.70
- buy 1 get 4 free comes up to $48.88
- @ the 2/3 off with free S&H 5 2cd sets @ $19.98 are $34.95
- buy 1 get 4 free comes up to $43.88
the "buy 1 ..." deal fulfills your agreement, the "2/3 off" doesn't. I'm personally saving up all my double cds for my fulfillment orders, where they count as 1 selection rather than getting them through free offers where they count as 2 of your 3 free cds. Your results may vary based on your finances & the number of choices you've accumulated ;-}
There is apparently no way to get the clearance cds to come off clearance & count as free or buy at original price. If you are joining multiple times, you can go through the bmg website with your membership & look at the already compiled list of clearance cds, choose what you want, & then use them as part of your next membership's initial selections. I did this with no issues. All 7 of my second membership's initial selections were clearance cds with no trouble.
If you are joining multiple times, do not check the box that asks to "save your information" on the login page, if you do so, it will automatically keep logging you in & you won't be able to get into your new account. To fix this, go to 'my account' 'preferences', click 'update' & say 'no' to "automatic login".
Under 'my account' 'order history', bmg goes from "processing" to "not shipped" & then to "shipped". "Not shipped" is just one more stage, it does not mean your order has been rejected. BMG seems quite inconsistent in whether or not you receive confirmation emails once your order is shipped. They are great at confirming orders, not so great at confirming shipments. Just letting any other worrywarts know it's not just you ;-}
Some good searches for finding the cds you may have missed over the years are Deluxe, Definitive, Gold, Essential. You can do a title search for these words or find lists of these on the website by looking on the "Home" page for "more Features" then clicking on "Prime Collections". In general, these all count as 2 or 3 of your choices in a 'buy none get 1 or 3 free' offer, but only count as 1 selection when making a purchase, like 'buy 1 get 4' or 'buy 5 get $10 or $15 off'.
Most of these tips are confirmed by others on this site & at stevehoffmantv, but I just thought it could help someone else to have them compiled in one place. In other words, thanks to everyone else who posted any part of this knowledge previously, not trying to take credit for it, just compiling ;-}}}

I would love to see new releases posted here when people come across them. If that doesn't work, maybe a new thread.
I'll be all over the Whiskeytown release. I picked up the Kate Nash recently and enjoyed that.

Here is the way I check on the latest additions:
Go to www.yourmusic.com
Click on New Arrivals (near the middle of the home page)
Sort by Most Recent
It seems to work a bit better than the BMG new release pages.

I just noticed today that all Warner label titles have gone to "Members Only" status. That puts a kink in my plan of attack to start a new account after finishing off an old one to get some remaining Warner titles before they leave for good.
When did that start?
Also, a belated thanks to gypsyarizona for supplying me with a list of Warner sublabels in the old thread. That helped me locate a few more titles to target before extinction from the club.

I just received The Eagles Desperado as part of my introductory shipment, and it is listed on the website as "remastered" but the one I received appears to be the old version.
Has anyone else ordered the Eagles remasters and had the same thing happen? I wonder if this is a website error, if I just got old stock. I'm trying to find some info on whether the remasters actually sound better. Sometimes they are worse. IOW, I'm not even sure it would be wise to complain and try to exchange it.
Any information would be welcome.

I was really happy with the Rhino remasters of Paul Simon albums. I can't think of another instance of ordering a remaster and getting a prior mastering. But for the price, I probably won't complain.
Has anyone bought any of The Who remasters? Are they remastered as advertised?
