It sure seems like BMG doesn't appreciate it's customers. Whatever happened to good old "customer service"??

It went away when most of the CS jobs were outsourced to India.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 5)

Speaking of Melody Gardot, check out her story and her music in the following video. (Especially jazz fans.)

http://wimp.com/musicalgirl/

I had never heard of her or her music but after having viewed the video, I found her to be very intriguing and thought I'd check her out. I was very pleased to find that her "Worrisome Heart" CD was available via BMG.

[Disclaimer: I'm not a label hack trying to promote an artist.]

Add Public Enemy - "Fear of a Black Planet" to that list as well. Order date was 1/23/09, got an email on 2/18 saying that it is still on backorder. They still show it listed for sale...

I'm guessing that the time between May 31 and June 30 is being reserved by BMG for completing orders already received.

All three of those Elvis Costello titles are great. Re: Cat Stevens, I may actually order one or both if we get 2 or 3 more free codes.

I got the email. I thought they would make a bigger pitch for yourmusic.com. Maybe they save the hard sell for later. I'll wait for incentives.

Maybe there won't be a hard sell and/or incentives.

I still have not received anything either in paper format or paperless format. I switched to paperless about 8 years ago...

I just got my e-mail about the closing of the club today. It seems like they did not just set up one mass email and hit send, but are rather doing it more staggered.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 5)

I'm jealous of the codes, etc. It had occurred to me a month or two ago to join BMG, and lo! I find its closing. I've had to watch this thread as people mine the depths for quality music.

Is there anyone that is completely done with their account, or has multiple accounts, that would let me hijack it? I would log in, change password, input my credit card number, change delivery address, etc.

I would *really* appreciate it (at least looking around on the site). I have heard there is some good jazz (some of the RVG Blue Note releases) on there. Please PM me if you've exhausted the BMG stacks and are feeling generous!

I don't think it would be possible to radically change an already established BMG Music Service account. I think it would definitely raise a few "red flags".

The same catalog is available at YourMusic.com, and $6.99 each is about what you'd get with the 4-for-1 or 2/3 off deals, and I bet any existing account would have used up all the totally free codes.

People move, don't they? I'm not sure what kind of system they would have where someone notices a new credit card with a new address. I find that extremely unlikely. And if it were noticed, I doubt they would care. Won't they want to be dumping their inventory? Anyway, oh well...

I'm guessing the name change on the address as well as on the credit card might. Maybe the best way to handle it would be for the account owner to have the CDs sent to the other individual and then work out some way for that individual to pay the account owner. Paypal perhaps?

Name change, address change, credit card change on an existing account would surely raise a few "red flags".

There is no reason for BMG Music to dump their inventory since Yourmusic and BMG Music are both owned by the same company. (They both also share the same inventory and warehouse.)

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 5)

I've had a HUGE drop-off in 'Made for BMG' cds. Out of my last 10, only 'Live at The Apollo II' was a BMG package.
