Was at a local Target this afternoon and noticed some "secure" boxes (have the 4 way wired on security sensors with the blinking led) on the Clearance endcap next to the DVD department. Closer inspection found that they were Western Digital WDElements 500Gb external hard drives red tagged clearance priced: was $129.99 now $64.98. Decent price for an internal 500Gb, seemed like a pretty good price for an external. Bought one of the 6. Visited a couple of other Targets and they were sold out - empty clearance tagged shelf spot in the "PC" aisle though one did have a different 320Gb external on clearance for $88.00 so YMMV. Happy hunting.

It was at the Almeda location but I was there last night and they are all gone now.

Bummer. Well, I'll still look around just in case. Some stores might not have labelled it as a clearance item, so it could be around somewhere still. Assuming that it was supposed to be clearanced...

Thanks for the tip. I've been thinking about buying one for a while now, but at this price I couldn't pass it up. I went to my store and found one left. Labled clearance on the shelf, but not in any special display or something, just the normal spot. So that's a tip for anyone else looking for it. And mine didn't have any security measures, so I opened it up to make sure it had all the parts.
