Micro Center - $100 rebate on Xbox 360 - In-store only.
 

I just got word of this - I'm going to confirm it by stopping by the store after work.

I've been itching to get a 360 for a while, and this $100 rebate might put me over the edge.

I'll make sure and see if there's any kind of strings attached.

Alright, this deal is good, as I just got back home with a brand new 360 Premium for just $300 (after rebate) - this deal is also good on the Core system, which makes it only $200!

The deal is good until December 3, and you have 15 days to send in your rebate slip - which you have to send in with a copy of the UPC, and you get $100 back.

I guess this is their big promotion for the new video game section they're putting in, which officially opens tomorrow.

What extras do you get with the premium edition over the core edition, and are the extras worth $100 more over the core edition?

I don't own one personally, but have done a bit of research into the extras and their cost. Here's what I found the premium version gives you, and the approximate cost to buy these items separately:

Wireless Controller - $40
Component HD cable - $40
HDD (20GB) - $100
Headset - $20

An ethernet cable also comes with the premium system, but if you're like me, you have dozens of these in your spare parts box...

You do not get a headset with the premium system. You do get a free xbox live arcade game though (hexic HD) and a free month of xbox live but I think the free month is with all their systems.

I don't know what you're talking about, because I sure as shit got a headseat with my premium system (as did my friend who just bought one). But you're right about the rest. Also, the ethernet cable that comes with it is pretty damn long, so it's good if your router is far away, and you don't have a remote adapter.

You definitely DO get a headset.

But I don't think I got a free XBLA game, although I didn't read all my paperwork yet.....

It comes pre-instaled on the hard-drive. It's a simple little puzzle game in HD.

So after three months, I finally got my $100 rebate check in the mail today.

A premium 360 for only $300 - woohoo!

And after having it for 3 months now, I can say it was easily worth $400.

I also got my $100 rebate check, and got my Worldpoints $100 bonus from the Microcenter VISA I signed up for at the time of purchase, and got my Xbox for $200 and tax. Nice bargain!
