Best Credit Card For Someone with no Credit File
Was looking at the other Credit Card thread and realized I prob couldn't get any of these bc I have no credit file yet (student). So does anyone have a suggestion for the best card you can get with no history?

my first card was a discover card, which had a nice cash back bonus program. |
MBNA gives out to pretty much anyone... they have a 23% interest rate i think, that's why
best bet is to get one of those, make some payments every 2 weeks continusouly for 3 months, and then apply for a better credit card |
I saw online a few weeks ago for a chase mastercard Student card that was 0% apr on purchases for 12 months.
thats a good deal |
here is the link http://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?p...ourcecode=6YK3

i have no complaints with capital one.

I was thinking maybe a sonystlye card with their 100$ cash back after first purchase. but I might not qualify so keep sending recos
discover looks promising but not quite as flexible or as univeral as visa (might just be a misconception though) |
I have many complaints with capital one. I'd go with Bank of America if you can, they are pretty much the only credit card I can recommend.

you should just get a card, and get your credit established. keep a balance on the card and keep making payments, on time of course, for at least six months. after that, apply elsewhere for a better card.

Another idea: if you don't need a credit card immediately and shop regularly at stores that offer cards (e.g. Target), get a store card. It a great way to establish credit, and they usually have an incentive going for signing up.
