I usually avoid GNC because of their high prices, but they are having a "buy one, get one 50% off" sale right now, and their "100% Whey Protein" is a great product. I'm picking up a six pounder of chocolate and another of vanilla for $66. Smoothies!

Optimum 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard is available online for a bit less per pound, and is probably marginally better, but GNC is right down the street, and with shipping, the price evens out.

Check out DPSnutrition.com I buy all of my supplements there and they are cheaper than most BM stores and most websites.

Don't pay more than you have to for your whey protein. The going price for a 5-6 lb tub is about $24-$27 unless you go for the premium brands. Sometimes, you can get it for $20 for 5 lbs if you look around. In the $27 or less range, you can usually find the basic whey products from leading trusted brands like Iron-Tek, MRM, Elite Sports, and some other brands. If you want a slower-digestion protein blend that includes casein, I recommend Iron-tek's 5 lb Essential Natural, which goes for about $28 and is a great nighttime protein that costs a lot less than other casein products like Muscle Milk, and has a lot less fat. MRM's Meta-Meal is what I recommend for a meal-replacement protein (great in the morning!). Comes in both single use packets and large tubs for about $1 a serving. Having the right kind of protein for different times of the day is very important, so hopefully you are not just sucking down whey shakes all day and thinking that is the best way to utilize your protein intake. I personally shop at www.n101.com or www.bulknutrition.com which both usually have great prices.

The BEST quality brand hands down (I have had years of experience with protein powder, and it's not expensive either) is ON (optimum nutrition). Check on www.bodybuilding.com for it. They have good prices there and fast + cheap shipping.

I get all my stuff at www.fightersnutrition.com, they beat any price you present them with. I like Muscle Milk for the taste, I'm not worried about a little extra fat. I also like the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard (5 lb.$29.89)
