I got it after I bought Austraila. I have no idea what the promotion was or if it was limited to specific DVD's. I didn't even know about it until they emailed me the offer.

Amazon has done the 1 dollar deal every 6 months at least twice. You should wait a couple months and see if they do it again. I personally got 4 years out of their last 2 deals. Its linked to buying any dvd.

After like two days, you can just log onto your Amazon account, click "Manage Subscriptions" and turn auto-renew to "off". Easy-peasy.
