Awfully expensive way to send out material don't you think? I mean they could put up to 4GB on a DVD for a heck of a lot less than a write-protected USB thumb drive.

That's what I was thinking. If it was only the material, it'd be way more cost efficient to just send out a disc of some sort.

Except you wouldn't get half a million people ordering a DVD with that material and reading it while trying to figure out how to erase it.

A lot of companies send out data on USB drives now. They're usually just sent out to the first 250 or something, though.

The OP over at FW even got the email. I wonder if they sent any of the drives out....

Well newegg is selling 2GB ones for $40 so I'd assume somehwere out there someone is selling them for $31. Rather cheap considering I bought my 1GB one for $80....

I agree with SunMonkey. Who here got one of these? I also received this email. I didn't bother searching for this thread to post it but since its already here, I'll add my case too.

I was on the Microsoft licensing site activating licensing information for the company I work for and I filled out the form at least a week before the FW thread and I did not even get it.
