Just cleaned out the display with another guy at the BN on Fifth Avenue/40's in Manhattan. The display was not signed. Associates were shocked. Picked up:

Frankenstein
Emma
Dante's Inferno
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
Herotodus
Complete Sherlock Holmes Vol 1
Tale of Two Ciities
Huckleberry Finn
Red Badge of Courage
Scarlet Letter

took a pass on Pilgrim's Progress and Last of the Mohicans

Thanks OP!!! My best deal in along time!!!

Yes! Exellent deal. I was wondering if this was only at the B&N I went to as it seemed too good to be a chain promo. And yes these are the books that were 3 for 9.99 a couple weeks ago.I would have bought more but I had to wait for the employees to get out of the way lol. They were literally grabbing 4-5 foot stacks of the books and taking them for themselves. Whatever though, I'd have done the same in their shoes.
Dantes's El Purgatorio
Milton's Paradise Lost
Grimm Fairy Tales
Wuthering Heights
Brothers Karamazov
Great Expectations
Utopia
Count of monte Cristo
Great American Short stories
Robinson Crusoe
Heart of Darkness
Sometimes it pays to get up and go to the DMV early!

Picked up: (82nd & Broadway in NYC)
Huck Finn
Tom Sawyer
Robinson Crusoe
The Scarlet Letter

There were only about 15 books total (about 8 titles in all) when I found the sales cart (near the cashiers).

I've been to a few B&N about this deal. Most of the employees had no idea what I was talking about. But at each of the 3, I managed to find a manager that did know. At the 3 I went to, they had almost sold out of all of their stock when they were 3 for $9.95. So they didn't really notice any when they sold their last few copies for $1. It was definitely not advertised to employees or customers through displays or anything.
