ToysRUs DVD/Videogame Sale 9/27?

While making my deliveries to the local Toys R Us, the receiver told me that their annual DVD / Videogames sales would begin 9/27.

DVD's would be buy 1 get 1 50% off

Videogames would be buy 2 get 1 free on titles $19.99 and lower.

I don't remember both DVD/Videogames being on sale at the same time in past years.

Hopefully, he right on with the dates.

Edit: Stars on 10/2 instead of 9/27

I hope this is true, but I'm skeptical. It's a little early for the Buy 2 Get 1 videogame sale, and there's usually a lot of buzz before the sale. After I saw this thread, I looked around for any news on this. All I could find was an ad preview for the upcoming week. Toys 'R Us is advertising a B2G1 for a limited number of Game cube titles:

Super Mario Sunshine
Mario Golf
Zelda WW
Pokemon Colosseum
Pikmin
Animal Crossing
Kirby Air Ride
Luigi's Mansion
Starfox Adventures
Metroid Prime
F-Zero GX

OP, I still hope your tip is right and it's going to be a broader sale.

Whenever they have this sale, there is always a Toys R Us sales flyer in the Sunday supplements. There wasn't one this week. Usually this is not for a few more weeks. Also, the Amazon site (which hosts the TRU web sales) usually also does that sale. I hope it is after 10/24 so Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix is included in the sale!

I had the buy 2 get 1 free sales flyer from TRU this week in my Sunday paper. It listed the gamecube games in efftimmy's post.

I talked to him again today. He said that it was orginally going to start on the 27th. He said that will start on October 2. The give away he says is the Oct. 2 date on the lower left red block on the back of the ad sheet.

I have tossed the ad sheet from Sundays paper. Anybody have it still? Is there an Oct. 2 date in the that corner.

1. Does this apply to Gameboy Advance titles?
2. Can you mix titles from different systems and still get third free?

You can mix them in the store, I don't think you can mix them online, but I might be wrong. GBA/DS/PSP titles aren't part of the promotion.

The real deal is coming 10/23-10/29, as posted here:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showpos...0&postcount=10

Also ripped from CAG, here are the codes for the current B2G1 online sale (10/2-10/8 on titles up to $19.99 through TRU on amazon):

PS2 - UPS2FREEGAME
X-box - UXBXFREEGAME
Game Cube - UGMCFREEGAME

Shipping kills it though.
