MacMall.com - iPod Nano with FM Transmitter; 2GB $194, 4GB $244 after rebate

The new Apple iPod Nano with free engraving and free FM Transmitter with this deal. The 2GB version is $194 and the 4GB is $244 with free shipping. This deal is available at MacMall and PCMall.

Here's details of the iPod Nano.

If you figure an average MP3 is about 1MB per minute, so you can fit somewhere around 2,000 minutes of music on the 2GB version.

To get this deal:
Add a iPod Nano to your cart from MacMall or PCMall.

Add a Belkin Tunecast FM Transmitter from MacMall or PCMall for $20.

A $20 mail-in rebate is available on the FM Transmitter.

By the way, I heard the black color Nano has been outselling the white ones 8 to 1.

I know where you can get one for free if you just do some offers and refer your friends to do some...

I can't believe people would actually pay $300 bucks for a 4GB mp3 player. Sure, it's cool and all, but for that kind of money you can get one with 10 times the memory.

I guess Apple knows their sh-t though, since people seem to be snapping them up.

Along those lines, (and not meant as a threadcrap in ANY way), I'd consider an Archos XS200 for about $200 bucks, or an XS202, it's replacement (with a much-improved battery life) for about $250. It's SMALL for a 20gb player, easy to navigate, and I really love mine, in case you can't tell.

(Throw this out the window if you just want a flash player, though.)

Because not all users would need an mp3 player with that much space, and the size of the player plus the additional functionality of it being flash based rather then hard drive based is a big factor for some. That on top of the looks and trendiness of it.

Yeah, these are really only truly useful for people with less than 4 gigabites of cds to rip.

For people with more than that, then the ideal solution is a larger capacity hd player that can hold everything (supplemented with a smaller capcity flash player for workouts if needed/desired). I have a 15GB Dell DJ and a 512 Creative MuVo and couldn't be happier.

4 GB of space is going to get me, at a minimum, 20 hours of music.

That's enough for about 10 days of working out without hearing the same song twice. At that point I can load more music on. I don't need every piece of music I own on my MP3 player at once.

And I love my nano.

I was anti- ipod for a while, but the nano sold me. A flash player that has thousands of custom accessories, more flash memory than other competitors, color display with easy, proven user interface... and it fits in that small change pocket of my jeans! It's really the price that made me swtich since $250 for 4 g flash is insanely cheap.
Its tought to find retail outlets with the 4G in price, and it seems the 2G isn't selling much at all. Apple should scrap the 2G (leave that to the shuffle) and make it 4 and 6.

I got mine with my discover rewards for the Sharper Image.

The problem with me for that, is I don't even need that much space on my workout player. I usually get two weeks without repeating songs on my 512 MB player (lift for about an hour 4 times a week on current routine) and then just randomly refill it.

Thus I just can't justify $300 for a Nano for workouts when I got my 512MB player for less than half that. And I can't justify it as my main player as I want all the music I own on my "jukebox" use player.

But everyone has different needs and budgets so it's great there's so many options and prices out there.

I've been holding off on an ipod because I want something that also has an FM tuner.
Will they ever make an ipod with a FM tuner?

With that idea in mind, why don't they make an ipod (or any mp3 player) with an AM tuner? It would be great for baseball/football games. I never use the FM tuner on my current player.

The Nano *is* tempting but I'm going to keep using my Nomad for now and hold out for the iPod Maxi (or whatever they call it) in 2006 that will have 32Gb of flash (I'm assuming this will happen as the maker of the current 4Gb chip says they will have 16Gb by that time and Apple could stick two of those chips side by side in a new playa).

Has anyone tried using the 10% off Target coupon on the new iPods (5gen)? I tried purchasing one tonight using the 10% off coupon plus the 9% cashback with my Citibank card and couldn't get the 10% coupon to apply?

I keep getting the following message:

"We're sorry, but the promotional code you entered cannot be applied to this purchase. Please refer to your promotional coupon for information about item or store restrictions. "

Concur, I believe it's a simple matter of form over function.

I've been quite happy with the 15GB Dell DJ I bought for

as others have said, the flash memory is the biggest factor.

I have a regular Ipod and a shuffle, and the two compliment eachother perfectly. I would get the nano if I didnt have the shuffle, but instead I will wait for the next line of flash memory based players
