Any way of finding out what brands/models of monitors these are?
|
it would seem to be a great deal if you are in the market to get a nice HDTV ready set.
|
does look like a good deal, anyone done this that can vouch for the monitors?
|
I called CS and she said the TV's were dish network brand. Now she was a total ditz and really didn't know to much but that is what she said. Im thinking about jumping on this. 1000 bucks seems real cheap for what you get. CS said the deal is good until It's good until jan 31st.
You also have to sign up for 1 year of dish network and hdtv @ 9.95 a month . |
I understand from another forum that the 34" monitor is made by Thompson and is the same as an RCA D34W20.
here's are links to the monitor amazon link wallymart link review link The RPT maybe a RCA D40W20 Link |
I saw a magazine ad for the same thing for $1400 or $1500. In that respect its a good deal
|
Which TV do you go for the 40" or the 34"?

funny.. at no point does it say if you are 'purchasing the equipment' or 'leasing the equipment'.
it just refers to the cost as an 'upgrade fee'. Also, if leased, it doesn't state the cost of not returning the equipment. Just be careful.. my experience reminds me to read every word of a Dish (or other) contract. If anyone sees a good directv hd upgrade deal, let me know. I just need the additional LNB and the receiver.. TV is good to go already. |
Not a deal, but a comment: you want the the DVR-921 reciever for HD: records two (2) HD streams AND plays one (1) HD stream back ALL at the same time. Check it out:

If you want HD you should take a look at Voom. They have 39 HD channels and will be expanding to over 70 HD channels in March.

I understand from reading the forums at Satellite guys that the current dish HD receivers will be essentially obsolete when Dish changes their HD programming to mpeg4 coding later this yr. Try and clarify whether you are purchasing or leasing the HD receiver.

In Murfreesboeo, Nashville - you can get this deal at HHGregg in store. They have the projection DISH brand set hooked up. It ain't great, but it culd be worse.
|
Good deal now. But way to pricey for me. I never early adopt technology as I'd rather wait a few years for prices to drop. But I'm not an audio or videophile (or tech guy in general) so my temptation isn't as strong as others. :D
